Last month, the Quebec government’s budget included a $5 million allocation for a pilot project aimed at acquiring and installing 20 modular units to address housing shortages for healthcare professionals. The Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) is leading the project, which will provide housing for health professionals recruited in regions of Quebec where housing is scarce.
The first two modular units were recently installed in Baie-Saint-Paul and La Malbaie, located in Charlevoix, as the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale was the first to express interest in the pilot project.

Huntington Homes, a construction company based in East Montpelier, VT, was chosen to build these modular homes for healthcare workers. The company is known for its expertise in building custom modular homes that are energy-efficient and sustainable.
The homes are designed to be portable and easy to install, making them an ideal solution for healthcare workers who may need to relocate frequently. The modular homes also have features that are specifically tailored to meet the needs of healthcare professionals, such as additional storage space for medical equipment and ample workspace for documentation and paperwork.
Huntington Homes has a long history of providing quality housing solutions to its clients. The company prides itself on its commitment to customer satisfaction and its ability to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget. With its focus on sustainable and energy-efficient building practices, Huntington Homes is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for affordable, high-quality housing solutions for the pilot program.
