Cappaert Manufactured Housing Puts Vicksburg Plant On the Market

Cappaert Manufactured Housing, one of Vicksburg, Mississippi’s longest-standing employers, closed two months ago and has decided to put their factory up for sale.

Sources indicate the company is actively seeking to be acquired with the intent to resume production through new ownership. The business, which was at one time one of the largest manufactured home factories in the United States, made the decision to move forward with a sale due to market fluctuations and soaring interest rates, which triggered a decline in demand for their product.  At their peak production, Cappaert Manufactured Housing employed an estimated 250 people.

Cappaert Manufactured Housing had been in the industry since 1987. Throughout the years, they had consistently delivered high-quality manufactured homes, catering to the diverse needs and preferences of homeowners.

The company, whose website is no longer active, is located at 6200 US-61 Vicksburg, MS 39180, and the last phone number I have for them is (601) 636-5401.

This location could make it a good factory to build ADU’s, tiny houses or Park Model homes in the South Central US market.
