Southeast New Mexico Set to Revitalize with a New Modular Home Manufacturer

In a groundbreaking development poised to inject new life into southeast New Mexico, a long-dormant facility at the Roswell Air Center is slated for transformation. This change comes thanks to a collaborative multi-million-dollar initiative spearheaded by Turnkey Ventures and BiltWise Structures. The venture aims to establish a state-of-the-art modular home manufacturing center, promising to bring not only hundreds of new manufacturing jobs to the region but also offering a much-needed solution to the housing crunch plaguing the local oil industry.

Roswell Mayor, Timothy Jennings, shared his enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its potential to kickstart a wave of employment opportunities in the area. “We are really excited about this. We think it’s the first of many more jobs to come,” Jennings remarked, underscoring the project’s significance as a major win for southeast New Mexico.

The collaboration between Turnkey Ventures and BiltWise Structures marks a pivotal moment for the local economy, aiming to rejuvenate the vacant building at the Roswell Air Center by converting it into a bustling hub of modular home production. This initiative is not only a testament to the companies’ commitment to Roswell but also signals their ambition to serve the broader New Mexico region and beyond. “We really aim to serve primarily the New Mexico region but we’ll also be able to build for places like Arizona, Colorado, and Texas,” stated Darin Zaruba, Chief Marketing Officer for BiltWise Structures.

With an investment exceeding $11 million, the private companies behind this ambitious project are set to create a new manufacturing epicenter at the air center. The State Economic Development Department (EDD) anticipates that the completion of construction will pave the way for the creation of 330 new jobs, significantly bolstering the local workforce. Furthermore, the city of Roswell plans to sell 45 acres of air center property to facilitate this transformative project, with the EDD also contributing $400,000 in Local Economic Development Act funds to support the venture.

This initiative is expected to have a ripple effect beyond the immediate economic benefits, with hopes of attracting trade students from Eastern New Mexico University’s Roswell campus. By fostering a symbiotic relationship between education and industry, the project stands as a beacon of opportunity, promising to cultivate a skilled workforce that will drive the region’s prosperity for years to come.

As southeast New Mexico stands on the cusp of this exciting development, the collaborative effort between Turnkey Ventures, BiltWise Structures, and local authorities exemplifies a shared vision for progress, innovation, and community upliftment. The modular home manufacturing center is not just a boon for the housing market but a catalyst for comprehensive regional development, heralding a new era of growth and opportunity in Roswell and beyond.
